Swashbuckler (Geoff): I have been sailing for over 5 years now and have logged more than 4000 nm of open ocean sailing. I also have enjoyed racing and beer can regattas, including Duck dodge (www.duckdodge.org), which in my opinion is far more dangerous than crossing an ocean. After all there isn't much to hit in the middle of the ocean.
Gregg: An ocean crossing sounded like a nice challenge for me.
Brendan: is a musician from Bellingham with big dreams and shallow pockets. He can't wait to look behind him and see the entire Pacific Ocean
Bob:
Soangela: For her 2nd time sailing she decided to do a pacific crossing.
Capt Dave: Learned to sail on a Sunfish sailboat in Arizona! Really learned to sail as crew for Kentucky Women racing out of Milltown WA including Swiftsure classic in 1998. At one time and at the same time, owned three sailboats all over 30'.
Swashbuckler (Geoff): Self taught with sailing, first boat 17' hobie cat. Grew up in michigan and now live on a 30' sailboat in seattle washington. background in architecture & construction, with a passion for tinkering & fixing stuff.
Stan:
Stan and his partner, Lolo are city slickers pretty recently into boating, now owning a Northwest 21 living in Seattle. After reading "A Voyage for Madmen," he was eager to get aboard any boat he could and explore the open ocean. He's looking forward to making his galley technique totally unstoppable and maybe making some friends with fish (before eating them).

Hi Dave here. Thanks for the welcome. I have had the call of the sea since I was a kid, had the coast guard come find us at age 8 after a few of us built a raft.
This will be my fourth open ocean passage. I have learned much on each of the other three. One thing I learned was that it really helps to bring good ear plugs so you get some sleep when off watch.
